Discovering York Street Cafe.

If you are looking for a fun place that offers delicious food with an outstanding service, as
well as different and funky decor, then York Street Cafe is your destination. It is located in
Newport and on the street that it gets its name from, York street. 

As soon as you walk through the doors, you will be greeted by hosts that are dressed up in formal attire and will notice how different this place is. The friendly staff will guide you to your table and answer all your questions about the cafe, from the decor to the menu. When I explained my intentions of writing a blog about this place, our server, Ethan, was kind enough to introduce us to Terry, one of the owners of the cafe. Terry provided us with the history of this cafe. Apparently, the building used to be called the “Feth Building,” and the front part of it on the first floor was a pharmacy. In the mid 60’s, the building was purchased and developed into the family business of Seibert Office Equipment. Terry and Betsy then purchased the building in 1997 and made the first floor as the restaurant, and the rest of the floors as a lounge, gallery, and a studio for people to make use of them.


 

Again, this place is fun and I believe everyone should give it a visit.
